1. From Conversion to Baptism

Last time we saw that we must immediately care for our newborn spiritual babies. The first 24 hours after deciding for Jesus are especially important.
If the person has no contact with other disciples for many days after their conversion, they will be left without direction or guidance, lose their enthusiasm, and their newly found faith will grow weaker and weaker or even disappear entirely.
Every disciple of Jesus who is firmly rooted in the faith and has matured can and should be a“disciple-maker,” a person who helps others become established in their faith.
The Great Commission states that we are to make disciples and baptize them. The“disciple-maker”accompanies the new believer from conversion through to baptism.
The requirements for baptism may be handled differently in various churches. Even though the Bible does not specify any conditions, preparing the new believer is always advisable.
In the last lesson, we saw that even the Apostle Paul, in Acts 9:1–19, had a “confirming mentor” by his side during the time from his conversion until his baptism.
The goal is a strengthened new believer who has become a conscious and enlightened disciple of his new faith, who confesses Christ and His church, and then receives water baptism.
Below, we’ll look at a short guide designed to help you through this process.

2. Program Planning

Here we address two types of new converts:

Converts from a cell group
Those who were converted outside of a cell group, e.g., at an evangelistic event or online.
