- In a cell church, life takes place in the cell groups
- The senior pastor or church leadership lives out and supports the cell vision
- The leadership structure and support are based on cell group leaders
- The cell groups give everyone the opportunity to discover and exercise their gifts
Difference from a church with cells
- Leadership remains only in the leadership circle
- Cells are just another program (often optional)
- The church and most ministries are inward-focused
- Departments work independently of each other and do not communicate with each other
- Often lack a clear, shared biblical vision
- 10% do the work, 90% watch (clergy and laity)
- Reaching outsiders and discipleship play hardly any role
- Training of leaders is neglected because everything is in the hands of one or a few
